Academy Award winners Denzel Washington and Russell Crowe team with director Ridley Scott in this powerful epic story. Armed with the ruthless, streetwise tactics and a strict sense of honour, crime boss Frank Lucas (Washington) rules Harlem's chaotic drug underworld. When outcast cop Richie Roberts (Crowe) sets out to bring down Lucas's multimillion-dollar empire, it plunges both men an into a legendary confrontation.
CARLITO'S WAY.
Oscar winner Al Pacino gives an electrifying performance as former drug kingpin Carlito Brigante, who is sprung from
prison by his high-powered attorney (Academy Award winner Sean Penn). He stuns the New York underworld
by vowing to go straight from a history of violence, but his plans are undermined by misguided loyalties and an
outmoded code of honour. In a life-or-death battle, Carlito takes on the relentless forces that refuse to let him go.
CASINO.
Robert De Niro, Sharon Stone and Joe Pesci star in director Martin Scorsese's riveting look at how blind ambition, white-hot passion and 24-karat greed toppled an empire. Las Vegas 1973 is the setting for this fact-based story about the Mob's multi-million dollar casino operation - where fortunes and lives were made and lost with a roll of the dice.
MEAN STREETS.
Mean Streets announced Martin Scorsese's arrival as a new filmmaking force-and marked his first historic teaming
with Robert De Niro. It's a story Scorsese lived, a semi-autobiographical tale of the first-generation sons and
daughters of New York's little Italy.
Harvey Keitel plays Charlie, working his way up the ranks of a local mob. Amy Robinson is Teresa, the girlfriend his
family deems unsuitable because of her epilepsy. And in the starmaking role that won Best Supporting Actor
Awards from the New York and National Society of Film Critics, De Niro is Johnny Boy, a small-time gambler in
big-time debt to loan sharks.
SCARFACE.
Directed by hit-maker Brian De Palma and produced by Martin Bregman, Scarface follows the violent career of a small-time Cuban refugee hoodlum who guns his way to the top of Miami's cocaine empire. With its intense screenplay by Academy Award winner Oliver Stone, driving musical score by Giorgio Moroder, and superb insights into Miami's Latin lifestyle, Scarface joins the ranks of Hollywood's greatest underworld dramas, as it lays bare the sordid power of the American drug scene.

Say Hello to my Leetle Freend
I wasn't sure what the contents of this box would exactly be - which versions of the movies would be in here. American Gangster - 3 Disc Edition Casino - 2 Disc Edition Mean Streets Special Edition (1 disc) Carlito's Way - 1 disc edition Scarface - 3 disc edition (seems to be a mashup of a few different releases of Scarface, I haven't put in the third disc yet though to see exactly what's on there, the 2nd disc has the def jam special amongst deleted scenes and featurettes and the third says world of Tony Montana, making the video game and the remastered feature..). Packaging is a nice fold out digipak style with movie stills and "splatter" on the fold out sections. Also includes a little book about American Gangster. The R1 version of this set looks like it has better packaging, and you get the 2-disc edition of Carlito's Way, however you lose a Scarface Disc and Mean Streets... For the price and free delivery, you really can't go wrong, I was going to buy the 2-disc ed of Casino for this much on it's own! So glad I found this instead. Looks like there's an alternative version of this set which replaces some of the bonus discs with even more movies... depends what you are looking for!
