Christian Bale returns as the caped crusader in Batman: The Dark Knight, following on from the 2005 blockbuster movie Batman Begins. The Dark Knight follows Batman’s conflict with old-time villain The Joker (Heath Ledger), as the criminal mastermind unleashes terror in Gotham City and forces Batman to confront everything he believes in.
The Dark Knight also stars Aaron Eckhart as Two Face, Cillian Murphy as The Scarecrow, and Maggie Gyllenhaal as Rachel Dawes.
